Topsail Island, is out there. We stayed with my family in a condo waaay at the end of the inlet. I determine how out there places are by asking, “how close is a grocery store where I typically shop?” Answer: Harris Teeter, 15 miles. It’s a place you go to get away. Still trying to figure out why people are trying to get away. If
What to do with a baby: Boone,NC
Boone, North Carolina holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I met my husband, and my best friends. We had a friend reunion in the mountains. Our cabin was in Fleetwood,NC about 15 mins outside of Boone. You can stay there if you want: Appalachian Sunset. We were originally going to leave G with the grandparents but, he/I aren’t ready for all of that.
Wilmington with the Trimbles
I’m recapping this past weekend while wearing a chunky baby, and bouncing on an exercise ball. We’ve been out of town a lot, it’s been fun. I can avoid the disaster that is our house, and we get to go on these amazing mini vacations. This past weekend, we ventured to the coast to visit some friends ,and take baby G to the beach for
Berry picking and camping on the farm
There is a magical time of the year when both strawberries and blueberries are in season. Over the weekend we picked 10 lbs of juicy, local, fresh berries. I was in berry heaven. Embarrassingly, I didn’t even know blueberries grew on bushes, I thought they just came in plastic pints. I would have picked way more, but G and I were both getting too
Washington, D.C. with the Trimbles
My 28th birthday was by far the strangest birthday I’ve ever had. We were traveling back from D.C., I didn’t have cake, and I went to bed while it was still daylight. Page took me out to lunch over the weekend for my birthday. We did an overview of my life in different categories. You know, like: goals, relationships, selflessness, health, etc.It was enlightening, I’m mostly excelling
Camping with the Trimbles
This past weekend, we headed to Falls Lake in Wake Forest, NC. Lets get real, it was glamping, i.e. camping in an RV. Page’s Dad and step mom take their RV all over North Carolina, and we join them when we can. I like any type of camping: car, tent, RV, backyard, backpacking. I want us to do them all, as often as possible. Part
Flying with a baby, ain’t no thing.
We are on again, off again Austinites. Last week, we took G on his first plane flight to visit our “second home.” He did fantastic, minus the three minutes when he screamed louder than I’ve ever heard. He then promptly passed out. We were there for business and pleasure. We’ve lived in Austin, but I never did a lot of the “touristy” things. On our
Easter Weekend: Harrisonburg, VA
Our first road trip with a baby. Thankfully, G napped and was super chill the whole time. The drive to Virginia was a slow one, there are no direct interstate routes from Durham. Page has road rage, but managed to make our drive only slightly terrifying. I have several irrational fears, most of the time I feel like death is imminent in the car. I normally calm
